Phil Kurth

I'm a software developer based in Geelong, working with businesses across Australia. For nearly 20 years I've been building things on the web: websites, WordPress plugins, and the small business applications that came with them. These days my work has shifted. I'm building AI integrations, intelligent systems, and the data pipelines that connect everything a business runs on.

Most of what I build is for founders who can see software opportunities in their business that no off-the-shelf product solves: lead generation pipelines, finance dashboards, internal messaging and ops tooling, customer-facing portals, and the automations that tie it all together. A lot of it replaces SaaS subscriptions that don't quite fit the business and grow more expensive with every user.

I work primarily in Laravel, React, and WordPress, and I provision and manage the infrastructure my applications run on. When I ship something, it doesn't get handed to someone else to keep alive. I stay with the work.

The work I love most is embedded. A founder hands me a recurring slot on their roadmap, I sit alongside the business, and we ship one well-considered piece of software at a time. Some of it lives behind the scenes. Some of it ships to customers. Some of it runs autonomously, doing outreach, processing data, or making the routine decisions the team would otherwise have to make by hand.
